Happy New Year-Who Am I

When it was legal to work the big cats on a leash without the barrier of an arena cage…My daughter (our sound engineer at the time) found this on YouTube-One of the very early educational shows in the eighties-

Who am I -This is who I am but some 20+ years later…Yaro has passed-The cats no longer with me…and our beautiful daughter is no longer a sound engineer-HA!

Enjoy the show…

Thank you Rachael for finding this memory!!!

  1. Awesome find!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Thank you!!! We were taking baby steps with the animals and how we decided training them was going to go-Did they enjoy it as much as the trainers and as much as the audience-It appears they did as the show progressed. I think the insight that a ruling was coming down the tubes against leash acts paid off greatly as we knew it was coming. And while the original intent of purchasing the animals was for expanding a magic show the love of those animals progressed so we’d be able to continue-new transport cages was required for this style of performance, a semi tractor and trailer as well as conversations also enabled us to continue and later following the new guidelines of the USDA/APHIS rules required yet another expansion for the transport cages making the purchase of yet another semi-trailer and conversation a necessity…ALL approved by the USDA/APHIS inspectors-Those were the transport cages the cats were in as well as the transport trailer…COLOR OF LAW SEIZURE!!! Making something out of nothing not so difficult when everyone is in on it including the judges…Little to no recourse when ‘fighting city hall’ Government by the people for the people I guess depends on whose side you’re on and how honest, forthright and bluntly truthful the other side is-HA! Need I say more?!? -B
