ZOO WARS~Charges Dropped Against Yogii and Friends

This judge wasn’t buying that crap from the district attorney…no mud on anyone’s face here-The animals were seized but not removed-At least they recognized that there are protected constitutional rights against the government taking property without a criminal conviction and considering that there was no reason to press criminal charges and no one making up tall tales of animal cruelty there was no case to be heard-Smart judge to see they do the right thing unlike some JP Judges in Texas who hear a criminal case that wasn’t and the judgment out of his jurisdiction or county court judge who hears a case out of his jurisdiction and has the gall to change it from criminal to civil although an appeal from a criminal judgment all of which that wasn’t and now the federal judges have to sort out the whole mess; leaving it hanging up in the air form years and years when the only thing-the one thing that they ALL should have known was that US citizens have protected constitutional rights that can not be denied. And best yet-the community benefits-just as Texas communities could have, should have but didn’t and instead my live to regret their actions.

Congratulations to Yogii and Friends -1 down and 1 to go.

DeSoto DA dismisses charges against Yogie and Friends

It’s a major victory for Yogie and Friends, the DeSoto Parish sanctuary for big cats like lions and tigers.
The DeSoto District Attorney dismissed the case against the organization after the team’s defense lawyer and a judge said there was no legal statute giving them the authority to pursue criminal charges.

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries seized the group’s nine big cats — on paper only — after a July inspection.

Yogie volunteers have made several upgrades to the facility and hope to open to the public in the near future.

“We think we’re a great resource for the community,” attorney Alan Golden said. “We’re very educational. We give people a chance to see lions, tigers, cougars, leopards, servals, and a bobcat in a very natural habitat. And get pretty close to them.”
