HSUS and Big Cat Rescue The Pot Calling The Kettle Black

The HSUS, Big Cat Rescue, The Fund For Animals -Is This The Pot Calling The Kettle Black?

February 6, 2014

The Humane Society of The United States put out a press release combined with Big Cat Rescue of Tampa Florida and The Fund For Animals aka The Black Beauty Ranch calling for the USDA to Revoke Joe Schreibvogel’s License.

Let us see just what the pot calling the kettle black has in their closets?

Let us take our first look at The Fund For Animals aka the Black Beauty Ranch. – This place is the only facility that the Humane Society of the United States operates and has repeatedly been in violation of the animal welfare act for failure to provide adequate veterinary care for the facility.

They have been repeatedly been in violation of the animal welfare act for the housing facilities in general, and these people claim to be the advocate for animal welfare? Think not. Wayne Pacelle your not walking the walk my friend.  Watch this video [This video included at the bottom of this post]

Now let us take a close look at Big Cat Rescue of Tampa Florida ran by CEO Carole Lewis Baskin who according to People Magazine quoted by Don Lewis’s Children and the prime suspect in the MURDER of her past husband Don Lewis and grinding her husband up and feeding him to the tigers is just what America needs as a leader in the exotic animal world and a dictator of ethics of what others should do. Here is the story from the St. Petersburg Times.

Trouble began to surface once the exotic cats came along. The couple’s relationship appeared to suffer, kind of like parents who fight about how to raise their kids.

Baskin wanted to change their mission from breeding and selling exotic cats to rescuing them.

Lewis didn’t.

By 1996, Lewis wanted to move the operation to a 200-acre farm he owned in Costa Rica. His wife didn’t.

Lewis told Anne McQueen, his assistant of 18 years, that he wanted a divorce. A year later, he walked into the Hillsborough courthouse and asked for a domestic violence injunction against his wife.

“Me and Carole got in a big fuss, she ordered me out of the house or she would kill me,” Lewis wrote in court documents. “She has a .45 (caliber) revolver and she took my .357 and hid it.”

A judge said there was “no immediate threat of violence” and denied the request.

The last time McQueen saw Lewis, he had argued with his wife and slept in a semitrailer on the property.

“Don did not leave of his own free will,” says McQueen, 53, who lives in Tampa. “He loved his money more than anybody, and he would have never left his money.”

In August 1997, police found Lewis’ van at a Pasco County airport with the keys on the floorboard. He was known to fly out of the country frequently, so police first thought he had just taken a trip. But as the months passed with no sign of Lewis, police flew to Costa Rica, chasing possible sightings. They also searched the wildlife sanctuary in Hillsborough. Police found no sign of him.

Lewis never touched his $6-million estate again – but his family fought over it. Baskin had documents showing he left her in charge of his estate. Lewis’ children were mostly left out of the will except for a previously agreed upon trust.

In 2002, five years after he disappeared, a court declared Lewis dead. Most of his estate went to Baskin.

The Humane Society of The United States supports anything that Big Cat Rescue stands for so does that mean they support people accused of murder also. The only reason this remains a cold case for the Hillsboro police is they can’t find the body and at that time people say she had family on the sheriff’s office and they refused to DNA test the meat grinder.

Now the supporters of Big Cat Rescue should also be aware that Carole Baskin has spent nearly 1/2 million dollars chasing Joe Schreibvogel trying to put him out of business and for what? She will never put Joe Schreibvogel out of business. She can sue, get judgments, be obsessed with him to the point she thinks she will wear him down. But what she don’t know is he is so determined and the more they harass him he will just go down the street and start over because he is not a quitter and she will never have access to grind him up. [Blogger note: Well if she didn’t know…she sure does now, LOL!!!]

Calling for his license is just a public ploy for more attention, what getting someone’s license taken away does is just stops public display which in turn does nothing but hurt funding to care for the animals so again is Carole Baskin an advocate for the health of animals or just another big ego that needs fed in the public eye?

So let us take a look at Carole’s track record.

She has been repeatedly cited for Facilities outdoors, unsafe caging and perimeter fence.

She has had over 140 big cats die from things like eating straw in their houses, Die under anesthesia for a simple x-ray. Euthanized for un-known pain condition? But the worst part is she has had many of them skinned and stuffed for her personal collection.

The injuries at Big Cat Rescue are shocking and Carole Baskin along with the HSUS has room to complain about one injury at Joe’s?

Here is a list:

1995/Timothy Evans: This North Carolina man (case # 97-08896-B) was attacked by a South American cougar named Tobi and was severely bitten on his left forearm after Baskin irresponsibly invited him to pet the cat which she claimed was “tame and friendly.”

1998/Mindy Harrel: Mindy age 46 was attacked by Baskin’s daughter’s pet black leopard, Jumanji who was  born at BCR. This very serious wound required 451 stitches to her right arm and removed the skin from her elbow to her wrist.

1998/Leah Dixon: Leah required hospital treatment after being attacked by a cougar which almost scalped her. By this time Baskin had learned to have the victims sign a release and then paid them to keep quiet. We have a copy of the release signed by Leah Dixon.

1998/Jennifer Adair: Jennifer was bitten in the thigh by Baskin’s pet snow leopard Hercules, bought for her by husband Don Lewis for her birthday. This bite went unreported.

1999/Daniel Caprio: This live-in lover of Baskin’s daughter, was attacked by a brown lemur named Co Coa. The wound required stitches to repair his ripped ear. The attack was not reported and Daniel was ordered by Baskin not to talk about it.

1999/Jason Hasford: Jason was injured by the same brown lemur, Co Coa. The wound in his arm took seven stitches. He too, signed a release and was told not to talk about it.

1999/Jennifer Lowry: Jennifer Lowery was bitten by an Ocelot. (Case # 3632) It looks as though she sued and it was settled out of court. view document here.

2000 or 2001/Cabin Guest: A cabin guest was bitten three times while interacting with a serval named Esmerelda after paying to sleep with the cat. He was made to sign a release, was compensated, and the injury was not reported.

2001/Carolyn Thompson: Carolyn was bitten on the hand by a cougar named Casper. The injury was treated at a hospital and there was some permanent nerve damage. Carolyn signed the release and was ordered not to talk about it.

Date Unknown Sometime after Don disappeared a man and his child wandered into BCR through a broken front gate and a lynx tore the child’s ear.

And a quote from Carole’s very own training memo to her staff. (have a person sign a release form and give them compensation to make it legal. This must be done immediately before outside influences encourage them to sue.) and copies of court records show the Compensations made were only $10.00. Pretty cheap settlement don’t you think? And there is much more to this story. Big Cat Rescue bought and bred most of the cats located at her facility and we have her staff on video lying about where they came from for the sole purpose of getting into your pockets. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Np9ZJ8FYgbw

Carole Baskin accused of over 60 counts of Felony Notary Fraud. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZgaNcnTzaI and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rx5o-A_GQbw

Never have you heard these two animal advocates go public with anything to do with the illegal horse slaughtering going on behind Big Cat Resuce’s back walls? Would this be where the meat was coming from? http://www.myfoxtampabay.com/story/18772367/investigator-horses-being-slaughtered-on-hillsborough-county-farms But yet the staff of Big Cat Rescue new something was going on, see this story http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/06/14/horse-slaughter-allegations-at-florida-farms-residents-complain-disturbing/ Now ask yourself just why are these two groups so closed mouth about what was going on behind big cat rescue?

Now one part that the supporters of Big Cat Rescue supporters also don’t know is Carole Baskin spend $100,000.00 per year to eat dinner one time with Wayne Pecelle of the HSUS, Now I wonder if Joe did that if these bashing press releases would stop?

Joe has one thing going for him and that is Nat Geo Wild came here with some pretty top stars to try and find something wrong here, well they couldn’t so the left with giving him this. http://gwzoo.org/GWZoo-Nat-Geo-Alison-Blog-Video.php
