Message from TX-RPOA -Beware on the local front -HSUS is setting up for business

HSUS is setting up for business in San Antonio-sponsored by PetSmart (Well, you don’t think that they would use their own money for it do you?!?  PetSmart lost my business years ago what about yours?!? And if you are still donating to HSUS STOP GIVING THEM YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY-it doesn’t help save animal’s lives and venturing out for S/N programs to end all breeding so that another won’t be born-ignoring responsible breeding programs; HSUS believes that ALL breeders are a ‘puppy mill’ and more than 9 animals means you must be a ‘hoarder’. Yes, that is the magic number -NINE But don’t tell Old McDonald-I know he won’t agree with a quack quack here and a moo moo there!!! No I’m not making light of this just showing the absurdity of it…

Humane Society of the U.S (HSUS). is coming to town!  To San Antonio for a
whole year and riding on a $50,000 PetSmart (Grant) Sleigh!

Surely it’s just a coincidence that San Antonio was chosen — the home base
for Responsible Pet Owners Alliance Texas Outreach.  Surely it’s just a
coincidence that San Antonio is always the first city hit with “animal
rights” legislation.  Surely it’s just a coincidence that IRS’s Lois Lerner
reached in and removed $9,000 from our IRS C3 Nonprofit’s “Rainy Day”
Investment Fund last year without anyone being notified including the
investment firm.  (Which has been returned!)  This is the HSUS who filed an
amicus brief opposing our HB 1451 Lawsuit last year. We’re beginning to get
a little paranoid!

Your city may be next for the HSUS “Pets for Life” Community Outreach
Program.  It makes sense if you recall Vegan HSUS President Wayne Pacelle’s
remark:  “I don’t want to see another dog or cat born.”  We now know he
meant that literally.

West Side is the land of the roaming dogs.  Express-News Editorial Board :
December 19, 2013

SAN ANTONIO – The West Side is the city’s ground zero for roaming dogs.
Specifically, it is ZIP code 78207, an area that has received national
attention for poverty over the course of decades.

Underserved 78207 is where dogs roam free. That also means it’s where dogs
bite. No ZIP code has had more bites in recent years than 78207, a recent
Express-News analysis revealed.

That’s why we were pleased to hear the city of San Antonio’s Animal Care
Services has qualified for a $50,000 grant to improve access in 78207 to
services such as spay/neuter clinics and resources about pet ownership.

PetSmart Charities is funding the grant. The Humane Society of the United
States will manage the one-year project, which starts in January. San
Antonio is one of 22 cities across the country to receive the grant funding.

This is a small, but well-focused step in the effort to address our roaming
dog issue. Many of these roaming dogs are not strays. They have owners.

The failure in ownership poses a tremendous public safety threat from bites
and attacks. And it places the dogs at risk of getting hit by vehicles.

The dog issue is so entrenched in San Antonio, there is no quick fix. It
will take a prolonged effort to improve spay/neuter rates and instill a
culture that keeps dogs from roaming free. Such a focused effort in 78207,
ground zero of the roaming dog issue, will be money well spent.

  1. I would cook every morsel my animals ate if the only other option was buying ANYTHING from Pet Smart-ABSOLUTELY MIND-BOGGLING what goes on behind the scenes or that HUMAN OWNERS do not understand regarding their own freedoms regarding animal ownership and their rights to care for their animals ! WE, for some reason seem to be able to bury our heads in the sand and NONE OF THIS PROPAGANDA EXISTS? OR MATTERS??? PLEASE WAKE UP ANIMAL OWNERS!
