PETA REBUTTAL -Without incident for 15 years…

GW Exotic Park is Without Incident for 15 years-This was the FIRST!!!

PETA Makes False Claims About Zoos

For many children, Zoos are the only place parents can educate kids on the need for and benefits of exotic animal conservation. Zoos provide financial support through fundraising for projects that are focused on the long-term conservation of exotic animals and their habitat in the wild. Yet despite this fact animal rights radicals provide almost no support for the housing and care of the animals it claims to defend. Over 80% of animals rescued by Peta are euthanized each year. Groups like Peta which claim to be concerned about the health and welfare of animals in reality do little in terms of providing funding for the care of exotic animals.

And animal radicals may resort to animal abuse to further an agenda. Garvin County Sheriff’s deputies think The Garold Wayne Interactive Zoological Park in Wynnewood, Oklahoma could be a victim of animal rights extremism. Park general manager John Reinke told us it all started when a man walked in and tried to drop off a chinchilla in a cage. “He just turned out the door, and he went at a high rate of speed, and never came back,” described Reinke. A few minutes later customers came in saying there was another chinchilla dead outside, surrounded by people crying saying the GW killed it. Reinke said, “They [the customers] heard everything they were talking about. They said it was the worst acting they’d ever seen.”

That is exactly why Reinke had a security system installed. He was able to get surveillance video of the man who came inside and the license plate of the vehicle outside. That surveillance footage has now been handed over to the Sheriff’s office. Reinke says he’s sick and tired of the protesters who say his animals are not given food or water. He cannot believe people would kill an animal to try to make a point. Reinke performed a necropsy on the chinchilla and was able to determine the animal was suffocated.

On September 26, 2013 Peta published a press release that contained a number of statements about The Garold Wayne Interactive Zoological Park which experts say are false and misleading. The GW Zoo in Wynnewood, Oklahoma is home to some of the most exotic animals in the world like tigers, bears, and monkeys.

The zoo seeks to preserve and enhance the lives of exotic animals through rescue efforts that remove them from harm’s way. The Garold Wayne Interactive Zoological Park seeks to advance the highest standards in animal care by working closely with the State of Oklahoma School of Veterinarian Medicine and two board certified vets. The Zoo works tirelessly to nurture and heal the physical and emotional wounds of exotic animals under care, and to restore the high quality of life and dignity that they deserve.

Key values of the GW Zoo are to raise awareness and understanding of the need for and benefits of exotic animal conservation and help educate children about animals. Yet despite these efforts groups like Peta take aim at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, GW Zoo and Sea World which help educate children on animal conservation.
