City of Waco, TX, Public Meeting.
6:00 PM, Thursday, June 27, 2013.
Waco Operations Center Training Room
1415 N. 4th Street, Waco, TX

STATED GOAL: “To reduce the pet population in Waco by encouraging safe and responsible pet ownership.” Do they really want to reduce the pet population in Waco? What a blow to the local economy!

The proposed changes to Chapter 5 – Animals are available at the URL:

The city is to be commended for removing the unenforceable “Intact Animal Permit” as San Antonio did several years ago. Few permits were sold.

We hope Waco will reconsider the onerous provisions for Mandatory Microchips and Mandatory Spay/Neuter of all domestic animals in the city, which are unenforceable without going door-to-door on a citywide search for pet sex organs!

RPOA recently sent our comments to members in Waco and city officials, including a 6 page attachment of proactive “Solutions to Animal Problems.”
It is programs and services, not anti-pet legislation that will produce results over time. How many years were wasted on the “Intact Animal Permit?”
